Since 2008, Paige’s Butterfly Run has been held in conjunction with the Taste of Syracuse, bringing over 2,000 runners and walkers to downtown Syracuse each June.
Due to COVID-19 and the chance of causing harm to the public health by bringing so many people together, for the first time ever, Paige’s Butterfly Run is going virtual from August 15th through August 20th. There will be a virtual award ceremony on Saturday, August 22nd. Stay tuned for more details!
Our goal remains the same, to put on a stellar community virtual event while raising the critical dollars necessary to fund pediatric cancer research and patient programs at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital.
How to Participate in Virtual Paige’s Butterfly Run:
You get to run or walk your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. There will be no specific course. This means you can jog, walk, skip or dance. You can do this on the sidewalk, on a track, on a treadmill or on a trail, just remember to use recommended safety precautions and practice social distancing.
Virtual Paige’s Butterfly Run is comprised of two events:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 3K Fun Fitness Run/Walk (1.8 miles)
Share with us your pictures or videos by posting on social media, tagging Paige’s Butterfly Run and using the hashtag #PaigesButterflyRun2020.
Everyone who has registered for Paige’s Butterfly Run prior to June 1 will automatically be transferred to the virtual event. You must claim your 2020 entry to have full access to the virtual run and your fundraising pages. Click here for instruction on how to claim your entry for Paige’s Butterfly Run.
Participants who register for Virtual Paige’s Butterfly Run will not automatically receive a t-shirt with registration, like in the past.
When you sign up you will have the option to purchase a short sleeve performance t-shirt for only $20 in addition to your registration fees, which will help support pediatric cancer research and patient programs at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital.
